- Slade School of Fine Art, UCL (BA Fine Art) 1966 - 1970.
- History of Art (MA) Kingston University.
- Assignments include 'Marine' themed paintings for the Bristol Bar chain USA (Gilbert Robinson Inc 1979 - 95).
- Boardroom portrait (Inchcape Plc 1983).
- The Guinness Portrait (Arthur Guinness & Co 200th Anniversary 1981).
- Perrier Portrait (New Media Productions 1981).
- Forms Philip James Studio in 1995.
Exhibited work :
- Exhibits with The Royal Society of British Artists and Royal Institute of Oil Painters (Winsor & Newton Prizewinner 2003, elected ROI 2006).
